About the Commissioner

What does the Commissioner do?

As an independent statutory office the Point to Point Transport Commissioner is responsible for authorising service providers, issuing taxi licences, managing enforcement and making recommendations to ensure the safety of everyone using or providing point to point transport in NSW.

Empowered by the Point to Point Transport (Taxis and Hire Vehicles) Act 2016 (the Act) and the Point to Point Transport (Taxis and Hire Vehicles) Regulation 2017 (the Regulation), the Commissioner and the Point to Point Transport Commissioner’s office (the Commission) ensure the industry complies with the law through education and enforcement, providing services for industry participants and information for passengers, government agencies and the general public.
