Meet the Commissioner

Anthony Wing is the Point to Point Transport Commissioner - the regulator for taxis, hire vehicles and rideshare in NSW.  Anthony was appointed as Point to Point Transport Commissioner in July 2019.

As Commissioner, Anthony is responsible for administering and enforcing point to point transport law to improve safety and contribute to the creation of a more adaptive, innovative and competitive market for the whole industry.  

Safety is Anthony's priority. To ensure a safer point to point transport industry his strategic directions are safer journeys for all, ensuring industry compliance, easier industry services and future readiness.  

His focus is also on promoting a culture of accountability for safety across the industry.  

Previously, Anthony was Executive Director of Policy at Transport for NSW. He played a leading role in the development of the NSW Government’s point to point transport reforms and the establishment of the current regulatory framework for the industry that came into effect on 1 November 2017. 

As well as having significant experience in transport policy, Anthony was previously a General Manager in the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, responsible for customer prices and cost-of-living, as well as transport competition and access. 

Immediately prior to his appointment as Commissioner, Anthony was Executive Director of Social Policy at the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
