Sydney Airport Operation
A compliance operation was conducted at Sydney Airport on 20 October 2025, targeting retroreflective signs. 184 hire vehicles were inspected with 10 Penalty Notices issued relating to retroreflective signage.
Cricket: Australia vs. India – Moore Park Entertainment Quarter
Approximately 40,000 cricket fans flooded Moore Park on 25 October 2025. 74 hire vehicles and 36 taxis were inspected by the Commission, with one (1) Penalty Notice and one (1) Improvement Notice issued.
Inspectors were strategically placed at the Errol Flynn Boulevard to ensure the taxi rank was clear of private and hire vehicles. Teams were also positioned along Moore Park Road to prevent hire vehicles and taxis from stopping and plying for hire.
Randwick Races – Stakes Day 2025
Randwick racecourse saw 15,000 patrons for Stakes Day on 25 October 2025, with the Commissioner’s on-street inspectors present ensuring driver and passenger safety. 83 hire vehicles and 67 taxis were inspected; four (4) Penalty Notices were issued.
Alison Street, King Street, and Darely Street were extremely busy; inspectors were strategically placed to ensure compliance and improve traffic flow.
Professional Bull Riders National Final – Tamworth
On-street inspectors were present at the Professional Bull Riders National Final in Tamworth over the weekend, 24 to 25 October 2025. 17 hire vehicles and 21 taxis were inspected. Six (6) Penalty Notices were issued, as well as two (2) Improvement Notices.
