Introducing Point to Point Transport Commissioner Barbara Wise

Barbara Wise is the inaugural NSW Point to Point Transport Commissioner – the regulator for taxis, hire vehicles and rideshare services under the NSW Government’s Point to Point transport reforms.

She was appointed to the position in October 2016 and is focused on establishing the new regulatory functions provided for by the Government’s reforms.

Prior to her appointment, Barbara ran the secretariat for the Point to Point Transport Taskforce, which formed the basis of the Government’s reforms to the Point to Point transport industry, announced in late 2015, and then led the implementation of the Government’s initial response to the Taskforce report.

Barbara has previously worked as both a regulator and in policy relating to passenger transport in NSW.

Barbara has more than 15 years’ experience across Federal and State Government, specialising in transport and education policy.
