NSW Bushfires

Published

The ongoing bushfires have had a devastating impact on communities in NSW.

Point to Point Transport Commissioner Anthony Wing would like to acknowledge the impact this has had on the businesses and families of industry members throughout the State.

During this time, the Commissioner is mindful of the difficulties being faced by the industry, particularly those service providers in areas affected by the bushfires.

Passenger Service Levy assessments are due to be issued in January 2020. The Commissioner is working with industry to identify those who may be affected and need more time. In addition, service providers affected by the bushfires who need more time can contact the Commissioner's team via the Industry Contact Centre on 131 727 or by email on the Contact Us page to make alternative arrangements.

Other NSW government agencies are also providing bushfire assistance that may be of help to members of our industry:

  • Service NSW is offering free replacement identity documents, and special arrangements for number plates, registration and licensing concessions. Service NSW has also deployed Mobile Service Centres in bushfire affected areas, as well as provided a list of reputable charities for those wishing to donate to sponsor recovery and reparations.
  • Transport for NSW - Roads and Maritime can provide customer assistance for natural disasters and emergencies.
  • Revenue NSW can discuss any payments and lodgements.
  • Communities & Justice has assistance grants of up to $15,000 for small businesses in Southern NSW.
  • NSW Health is providing a range of support measures in relation to medications, vaccinations and mental health services.

Above all, the Commissioner would urge everyone in the industry to ensure they are putting their health first and to stay safe.
