NSW Police Prohibition Notice: Sydney CBD Saturday 18 September

Published

NSW Police has issued Prohibition Notices to a number of service providers prohibiting the provision of passenger services to the CBD between 9.00am - 3.00pm on Saturday 18 September 2021. This prohibition is in relation to a possible unlawful protest in the CBD.  To ensure the safety of their drivers and passengers, service providers who did not receive a Prohibition Notice, must also not provide passenger services in the identified zones on Saturday.

What does this mean for the point to point transport industry?

All service providers should not provide passenger services between:

  •  Western boundary: West Link Rd x The Crescent, Lilyfield and Parramatta Rd x Crystal St, Stanmore;
  • Southern Boundary: South Dowling Street x Todman Avenue, Zetland to Stanmore Rd x Enmore Rd;
  • Northern Boundary: Bradfield Hwy Milsons Point;
  • Eastern boundary: New South Head Rd x Ocean Avenue Edgecliff during the above period

The only exception is for pre-planned medical appointments at medical facilities within these zones. This means if a passenger has a booked medical appointment within these areas, the driver would be able to provide passenger services within these zones, however no other passenger service can be provided within these zones. This order has been issued to lessen the risk to public safety and to help protect point to point transport drivers and passengers.

Point to point transport service providers and drivers must comply with any directions issued by NSW Police. As this is a police matter any questions should be directed to NSW Police.
