Coldplay concerts – Sydney Olympic Park
On the 6, 7, 9 and 10 November, hundreds of thousands of Coldplay fans lit up Accor Stadium as part of their Music of the Spheres World Tour. Sydney Olympic Park was extremely busy with vehicles travelling in and out of the precinct each night.
Over the four nights, 129 taxis and 361 rideshare vehicles were inspected.
In total, 56 breaches were identified, and 2 improvement notices were issued.
Most of the penalty notices (40) were issued to rideshare drivers for failing to display their retroreflective sign. With other penalty notices issued for taxi drivers failing to display their Driver ID’s, for drivers smoking in their vehicle, to taxis for stopping in areas that were not designated taxi zones, and others.
P2P AO’s provided a highly visible presence during all four evenings. The Sydney Olympic Park Authority provided positive feedback stating that P2P presence had a profound effect on keeping the roads flowing and ensuring passengers using taxis and rideshare vehicles could do so in a safe manner. Viva la Vida!
