Industry Information Sessions: Small Buses

The Point to Point Transport Commissioner invites operators of small buses (between 8 and 12 seats including the driver), community transport service providers and tourism industry transport operators to attend an industry information session about what NSW's point to point transport laws mean for them.

The point to point transport laws regulate passenger services (and bookings for those services) provided in all vehicles with 12 seats or less including the driver.

From 1 November 2018, this will now include services in small buses currently provided by accredited bus operators within the Bus Operators Accreditation Scheme (BOAS) that is regulated under NSW's passenger transport laws.

Topics covered at the industry information session will include: 
•    Background and key elements of the point to point transport laws
•    Implications for operators of both large and small buses – and mixed fleets
•    How to become authorised
•    What do I need to do to be compliant with the new laws
•    Passenger Service Levy
•    How to register as a tax payer

If you attended an industry information session in May, June or July this year, you may already have an understanding of the topics that will be covered.

After the presentation, staff will be available to provide one-on-one assistance with any queries you may have about authorisation or compliance.
