The Point to Point Transport Commissioner, Anthony Wing and his team spent the start of the week talking with industry stakeholders about the future, and taking part in important conversations about the role of point to point transport in the 24 hour economy.

📍 NSW Taxi Industry State Conference

The Commissioner addressed the NSW Taxi Industry State Conference – ‘Your New Taxi Future’ on Monday, highlighting the positive state of the industry, discussing the taxi licence reforms future landscape and answering questions from members. The Commissioner’s Executive Director, Jim Modrouvanos, Audit Manager, Eliza Hamilton and Stakeholder Engagement Manager, Marcus Binet also conducted an interactive workshop on ‘Managing Safety – A practical approach’ that addressed Safety Management Systems and safety requirements for taxis in NSW.

📍 Neon International Night-time Economy Forum Sydney 2023

Yesterday, at the Neon International Night-time Economy Forum, the Commissioner contributed to a panel discussion on global perspectives on night-time mobility. He was joined by thought leaders from around the world to discuss ways of improving night-time mobility and how the point to point transport industry can play a part in providing greater access to work and leisure activities after dark.

Both events provided a great opportunity for the Commissioner to engage with members of the industry from across NSW, Australia and the world, and to listen, learn and provide best practices and insights to ensure the NSW point to point transport industry is not only well-equipped for the future but a leader in providing safe passenger services.
