Taxi registration renewal has now been digitalised

Published

Service NSW has now introduced online taxi registration renewal for taxi service providers and taxi registration holders to help streamline the process.

What has changed?

Up until recently, taxi service providers or taxi vehicle owners have been required to attend a Service NSW service centre and present documents in person to renew their taxi registration. The process has now been digitalised and can be efficiently renewed online with the following required information:

  • vehicle's plate number or the billing number (available on your paper or digital renewal notice and digital Certificate of Registration)
  • compulsory third party (CTP) insurance policy, commonly called a green slip
  • eSafety inspection report, commonly called a pink slip
  • payment (if applicable)

Can I still renew the taxi registration in person?

Yes, taxi registration renewal can still be completed in person at a Service NSW service centre.

The updated process will soon be promoted online – we encourage service providers to share this new change of process to their channels and to other taxi registration holders.
