The Commissioner’s on-street inspectors have been busy this week, conducting compliance operations in both metropolitan and regional New South Wales.
Across the week 18 August 2025 to 24 August 2025
- 16 breaches were identified
- 7 Improvement Notices were issued
NRL: Penrith Panthers vs. Canberra Raiders – Mudgee
The on-street inspectors were present at the Panthers vs Raiders game in Mudgee on 22 August 2025, where approximately 9,000 patrons were in attendance.
With limited taxis in operation in addition to rideshare, both taxis and rideshare were very busy meeting passenger demand. In total, three (3) rideshare vehicles and three (3) taxis were inspected with one (1) Improvement Notice issued.
Night Operation - Albury
On-street inspectors were present in Albury on 23 August 2025, inspecting seven rideshare vehicles and 10 taxis.
Inspectors also noted a number of taxis not using designated taxi zones for ranking and picking up passengers. Taxis operating outside of designated taxi zones can impede the normal flow of traffic, causing congestion which can be a safety issue for passengers.
Four (4) Penalty Notices were issued as well as two (2) Improvement Notices.
