Changed traffic conditions Friday 9 October and Saturday 10 October

Published

Point to point transport drivers are advised of changed traffic conditions on Friday 9 October at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Moore Park and on Saturday 10 October at Bankwest Stadium in Parramatta due to the NRL Semi Finals.

On Friday 9 October, traffic is expected to be heavier than usual on roads approaching Moore Park including Anzac Parade, Lang Road, Cleveland Street, Moore Park Road and Flinders Street.

A taxi rank is located on Errol Flynn Boulevard off Lang Rd. Alternatively, point to point transport drivers can drop off in Driver Avenue. Note that Driver Avenue will be partially closed from 5:15pm and will reopen after full-time.

Passengers should plan their trip to accommodate the increased traffic for the 7:50pm game kick off.

On Saturday 10 October, point to point transport drivers are advised of changed traffic conditions in Parramatta as thousands of fans travel to and from Bankwest Stadium.

With increased patronage expected, Transport for NSW is applying an exclusion zone for drivers of point to point transport vehicles, affecting operators of taxis and hire vehicles, including rideshare, from 9:30pm to 10:30pm on Saturday 10 October.  The exclusion zone will cover no stopping areas around the Stadium, including O’Connell Street and parts of Victoria Road and Ross Street.

Point to point transport drivers should not be picking customers up from no stopping areas, and to encourage patrons to catch rideshare away from the Stadium to assist with traffic flow and pedestrian safety.

Police will be stationed at entry points to the exclusion zone and sanctions may be administered on the spot for failure to comply. Point to Point Transport compliance officers will also be present and undertaking vehicle and driver ID inspections.

Areas around Bankwest Stadium affected by exclusion zone:
•    O’Connell Street
•    Victoria Road
•    Ross Street

Sections of these roads will be closed prior to full-time and will reopen once crowds have safely cleared the precinct.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
