Exclusion zone at Bankwest Stadium this weekend (3-5 July)

Published

Transport for NSW is applying an exclusion zone for drivers of point to point transport vehicles, affecting operators of taxis and hire vehicles, including rideshare, from Friday 3 July to Sunday 5 July at Bankwest Stadium.

With increased patronage expected due to NRL games, the exclusion zone will cover no stopping areas around the Stadium, including O’Connell Street and parts of Victoria Road and Ross Street.

This is to reinforce that point to point transport drivers should not be picking customers up from no stopping areas, and to encourage patrons to catch rideshare away from the Stadium to assist with traffic flow and pedestrian safety.

Police will be stationed at entry points to the exclusion zone and sanctions may be administered on the spot for failure to comply.

Areas around Bankwest Stadium affected by exclusion zone:

  • O’Connell Street
  • Victoria Road
  • Ross Street

Dates and times for exclusion zone:

  • Friday 3 July – 9.30pm to 10.30pm
  • Saturday 4 July – 9.00pm to 10.00pm
  • Sunday 5 July – 8.00pm to 9.00pm

Drivers of point to point transport vehicles should be aware of the exclusion zone area and times and plan their journeys accordingly. The two closest taxi drop off and pick up points are located at Marist Place near Victoria road and Villers Street near Victoria road.
