Another point to point vehicle sanitisation station has been fast tracked in Prestons to provide safer point to point transport services for passengers and drivers, following an increase of COVID-19 cases in Western Sydney.
The program has been developed to provide cleaner and safer point to point transport services for passengers and drivers.
Point to Point Transport Commissioner, Anthony Wing said “Drivers of taxis, rideshare and hire vehicles are already embracing this service in Alexandria and now drivers who operate in Western Sydney will now be able to have their vehicle sanitised for free.”
Mr Wing said “I cannot stress how important the safety of drivers and passengers is at this time and that is why we encourage all point to point transport vehicles to make use of the free sanitisation stations in operation.”
The Australian first initiative is allowing the point to point industry to keep safely providing services to its passengers.
“Point to point transport vehicles eligible for this service include all taxis, rideshare and hire vehicles. As restrictions lift and more people are travelling on NSW roads, I want passengers who use these services, to do so with the reassurance they need during the COVID-19,” Mr Wing said.
Vehicle sanitisation includes the disinfection of high-touch areas both in and outside of the vehicle including; outside and inside door handles, boot handle, window controls, steering wheel, visors, centre console, gear stick, handbrake, grip handles, glove box, dashboard, seatbelts, seats, headrests, mobile phone holders, cup holders, fuel door, fuel cap meters, and payment equipment. It is not a car wash service.
For the safety of drivers and passengers, drivers are encouraged to maintain a high level of vehicle sanitisation and carry out spot cleaning in between sanitisation station visits.
“We are calling all drivers of taxis, rideshare and hire vehicles to do their part in keeping themselves safe and continue to support the needs of our passengers in a safe and sanitised environment,” Mr Wing said.
