The Point to Point Transport Commissioner’s Compliance team was in the North Coast region of NSW from 16 to 19 July 2019, conducting on-street compliance activities at Splendour in the Grass in Byron Bay, as well as in Tweed Heads and Yamba.

The team worked with the local Roads and Maritimes Services (RMS) office during the activities, with a number of pre-arranged vehicle checks taking place at RMS’ Tweed Heads Inspection station.

Twenty-three Improvement Notices were issued over the four days, the most common of which were for matters relating to signs and markings for both taxis and hire vehicles. In all, 94 taxis and hire vehicles were inspected.

The North Coast activities were a part of a range of ongoing compliance initiatives at sites and events across NSW.
