Weekly Wrap: on-street compliance activities

The Point to Point Transport Commissioner’s Authorised Officers continually conduct a mix of highly visible and covert, plain clothes operations, targeting illegal and unsafe driver behaviour throughout NSW.  

In the final week of July, Monday 22 – Sun 28, a total of 65 Penalty Notices and 19 Improvement Notices were issued. 

Targeted compliance  

Over the week, the Compliance team targeted hire vehicle and rideshare drivers not displaying a retroreflective sign on or near the rear of the driver’s side of the vehicle when providing passenger services, as required by law.  

Retroreflective signs are important for the safety of passengers, drivers, and the public, the sign makes it clear that the vehicle is providing passenger services.
