What role do drivers have in the display of information inside taxis?

Taxi drivers must ensure their Driver ID is placed in a suitable ID card holder before commencing their shift, and that it is clearly visible to all passengers inside the vehicle.

Checking that the specified information is clearly displayed in a vehicle providing taxi services should be a part of a driver’s pre-departure checks, and the driver should not commence taxi services until all information is safely attached and visible.

If an issue occurs with any of the specified information during a driver’s shift, for example a sign peels off and is lost, the driver should immediately report this to their taxi service provider (network) and/or their taxi licence holder (operator) and seek guidance.
