Compliance activities at Sydney Airport

The Point to Point Transport Commissioner’s compliance team were at Sydney Airport on Sunday 4 August, conducting an on-street compliance activity targeting touting and soliciting.

One hire vehicle driver was issued with a penalty notice for touting and soliciting, while the presence of Commissioner’s compliance officers deterred other drivers from attempting to do so.

In addition to the touting penalty notice, the compliance team issued an Improvement Notice to a taxi service provider as the taxi failed to display any livery (failing to display an identifying logo, company contact information and visible fare structure) and also failed to internally display contact information. A Penalty Notice was issued to the driver for failing to display identification.

The Sydney Airport activities will continue as part of a range of ongoing compliance initiatives at sites and events across the State in the aim of achieving safer point to point transport in NSW.
