Enhancements to the Driver Vehicle Dashboard (DVD) are now live.

  • The ‘Licence Eligibility Check’ traffic light on the DVD has been replaced and split into two easy-to-understand traffic lights.
  • ‘NSW Licence Check’ indicates if the driver has a current unrestricted NSW driver licence (and meets the medical standards for commercial vehicle drivers), and ‘NSW Licence Tenure Check’,  indicates if the driver has held an unrestricted NSW driver licence for a cumulative total of 12 months in the last two years.

A red light in the DVD is an indicator that the ASP should take immediate steps to assess the driver’s ongoing eligibility to drive a taxi or hire vehicle. The new licence check will only display results for NSW drivers who have the Passenger Transport Licence Code (‘PT’ code) applied to their licence. NSW drivers who do not have this code, or interstate drivers, will not appear in the DVD.

New Safety Check feature

The ‘Safety Check’ function will show when a taxi or hire vehicle last had a safety check (pink slip) inspection.

Vehicles used to provide point to point transport services must have a safety check at least once a year. The DVD will display the date of the vehicles last safety check.

In addition to these changes, the existing ‘Vehicle Check’ on the DVD which checks whether a vehicle is currently registered in NSW, has been renamed as ‘Registration Check’.
