On Tuesday 23 May, 2023, the Point to Point Transport Commissioner, Anthony Wing and members of his team, attended The High Country - Rural Community Transport Conference 2023 in Armidale.
Anthony provided an update on community transport’s role within the point to point transport industry in NSW, as well as answering questions from community transport providers. Attending the conference also provided an opportunity for the Commissioner to recognise that community transport operators play an important role in regional NSW by providing services for eligible seniors, pensioners, those with accessibility needs or those who have limited access to public transport. The Commissioner also met with Armidale Regional Council's Mayor, Sam Coupland, Deputy Mayor, Todd Redwood, and fellow Councillors to discuss point to point transport in Armidale and surrounding areas. The meeting provided a great opportunity for the Commissioner to hear local insights into the importance of point to point transport in the region.
The Commissioner values visiting and engaging with industry and industry representatives across the state, and will continue to visit regional areas throughout the year.
